I think Tony Gale called it right last night…. He’s a fucking fanny….. anyone that goes near him he crumples like a overcooked sausage roll from Greggs… it was embarrassing some of the stuff last night

I agree with some of the observations about Vlasic. He is though, despite his huge fee, a work in progress and the signs are rather like Bowen and Benny he will come good.

I'm not saying Vlasic played terrible or badly, it's just I don't think he was that good. You said he played ok, and that's fair.
Most reports have him a 6 out of 10, and I'd go along with that. The thing is, the majority of the team could have been a 7 or an 8, with perhaps a couple being a 6 similar to Vlasic. That would make him worst or joint worst on the pitch.
It probably sounds harsher than it is.

Diop is not "terrible". He is a decent fourth choice defender. The unfortunate thing is he's playing alongside our third choice defender.
Play him alongside Zouma a few times a season and I'm happy.
Play him every match alongside Dawson and it's not going to go well for the team.
But compared to many people we've had over 40 years of watching West Ham he's like Pele.

my biggest problem with Vlasic was off the ball. He was on my side of the ground in the first half and we had so much space on the left but he kept moving central (probably instructions from Moyes) but he wasn't making himself available and was easily picked up. Which also meant when he did get the ball he was immediately under pressure from the defender and played either the easy backwards pass or lost the ball.

Fair enough Trundle that’s what your eyes saw. I saw a decent, tidy if unspectacular performance. He did ok.
I don’t need reports to judge games I have good enough eyes and a reasonable amount of experience watching, playing and coaching football to make my own mind up as I’m sure you and everyone else on here does.
Everyone around where I was sae thought he did ok. Didn’t hear any criticism of him at all last night.

Thought Vlasic did ok, he wasn't any worse than Lanzini or Fornals IMO. Its getting to that stage though where he's being scrutinised more than anyone else as Benrahma was at one point.

I thought Vlasic played well, especially first half. Some of our build up play was a joy to watch and he was always involved. Definitely not our worst player and seems to be adjusting now and getting better. No one had a bad game but Lanzini and Antonio weren't at their best obviously.

I thought Vlasic was our worst player.
Try and find me a player ratings report from last night that doesn't mark him worst or joint worst.
He was also disposed the most out of any of our players.
I don't think he played well.

Vlasic did not play poorly at all last night, he did ok. Lanzini wasn’t as good as previous games and Fornals In the first half also weren’t great.
The thing was they didn’t need to be great. They all did enough.
Cresswell being back was the highlight other than Bowen and Coufal looks like he has his energy back, looks fit and firing.
Antonio wasn’t as good as he was against Leeds and should have come off after he felt what looked like his left knee when he scooped it over the bar after some good work. He laboured after that, hopefully nothing serious.
Diop is devoid of confidence but did ok and Dawson did what Dawson does he defended.
Yarma did some step overs and had a shot, Arthur shanked one over the bar then set up the second goal.
Fab made a very good save.
Could and should have been a lot more, always in control, opposition we’re very poor, forgettable game but 3 points, back to 4th and a clean sheet.
Let’s enjoy it, get the players rested for Sunday, 3 more points on the board- gives us a week before Man U then 2 weeks to get everyone rested and fit for the run in starting at Kidderminster.
Fucking great time to be West Ham.

The issue is both Diop and Arthur is that will ALWAYS give haters ammo to dig them out. Diop has horrific first touch and seems like he has to concentrate REALLY hard to pass the ball, and Arthur is so laid back he is horizontal, so will always do something stupid at some point. I do think they both get more stick than they should though, I have seen a lot worse squad players in C&B.
Arthur should NEVER be used at LB again though......

Lanzini's finishing was comical last night, that corner that he ballooned into the upper tier was unreal

AOI, considering he was on for only a short while and created a goal, he had a "decent" game imho as I said. Him & Diop have become the new scapegoats and it's unfair. They are good back up players, Diop is still young and Arthur has very good technique and gives us other options, to be fair to him he was never a LB but a Wingback, we've won plenty of games with them in the side, okay they make mistakes but so does every player.
I'm more frustrated that we miss so many chances and turn every game into a battle with nervy endings, and couldn't get more points at home to the likes of Brentford, Brighton & Southampton. Antonio, Lanzini and even Bowen good as he was were all guilty last night.

Masuaku came on in the 78th minute how anyone can make a judgement in such a short time good or bad would put you in the Wally St Pier class

13 Brentford - Arthur had a decent game??!!
That's the funniest comment I've read for ages. It's hard to credit it, but the bloke is getting worse. Just because he found hinself in acres of space to put in a pass for the 2nd does not mean he had a good game.

Sorry, Diop is not a ‘terrible footballer’. Okay, he’s not as good as Ogbonna or Zouma but there aren’t many better fourth choice CBs in the premier league.
Also Arthur was slagged off on the stream I was watching (by Tony Gale) for not crossing sooner for Bowen’s second goal… it was only at the last second that the Norwich defender put out a foot to play Bowen onside so Gale failed to recognise Masuaku’s brilliance there 😂

13 Not sure obsessed has anything to do with it. Imo both are terrible footballers diop done ok as he did on Sunday but he’s been dreadful in the last few weeks. As for Arthur he’s just a terrible terrible footballer. If he has the odd game where he’s not totally shit happy to say so even a broken watch is right twice a day. Wouldn’t say he played well wasn’t on long first real involvement he tried to cross it from inside the box and nearly hit the opposite corner flag but also got an assist so I’d put that in the not absolute shit bracket. Hope that clears things up.
